My husband takes plenty of photos during his travels. He's got a fantastic eye & I've been trying to encourage his photography - not only for the photo's sake, but because they make excellent reference materials (with permission, of course).

He had one of an Aboriginal panhandler he saw in Sydney (this is quite common, youtube has a few clips here and there) & I decided I'd like to see a painting of it.

I've been getting some questions recently from people who've seen the prints in person as to whether or not I've copied photos and altered them, etc. This is very flattering, in a certain respect... however, no - no filters, no copying or editing of the original photo - this was eyeballed & painted from scratch using Photoshop and a Wacom.
